At every hobby industry show in Japan for the last three years, I have been begging the Bandai people to do a Master Grade Sazabi, which is probably my favorite mecha of all time from the Gundam universe. I still cannot believe it has finally happened! There is nothing to complain about here at all. The kit looks great and includes everything you would expect it to. Even the little attack pods that mount on the back launchers have individually opening panels! Well, if there is one bad thing about this kit, it may be its size. True to the Master Grade series, it is a 1/100 kit, and with this mecha that means it's almost 26cm (over 10 inches!) high when completed. The box is the same size as the Perfect Grade Gundam, and weighs 1.3kg.

i've got this mobile suit a couple of weeks ago, and i was a little scared because it's in japanese and all, but the instructions are very easy to follow and straightforward. The only thing about it it's that if you want to be 100% original like in the movie, you've got to paint it(sold separately), and put the seals that come in the package, that to this day i don't know how to use them. but still it's great fun building it, i doesn't take a lot of time, and sometimes you have to use ingenuity, because the instructions tells you one thing in the real world it's the other way around, so it's challenging as well, have fun whit the greatest mobile suit ever, THE SAZABI, i know i did.

After Char Aznable returned as the leader of his own Neo Zeon faction in UC 0093 he ordered his engineers to create him a new mobile suit which would fit his pilot skills and Newtype powers. The result was the MSN-04 Sazabi which was later built by Anaheim Electronics. With an overall height of 25.6 meters the Sazabi is much bigger than most other mobile suits but thanks to the great number of thrusters it is much faster and maneuverable than other suits. Its main weapon is an abdomen mounted mega particle gun which is able to destroy several mobile suits with only one shot. Other weapons which the Sazabi can use are a shield with three missiles, a beam shotrifle and a beam tomahawk. Because Char is a Newtype the Sazabi was also equipped with six funnels which the pilot could control with his mind through the psycommu system. The Sazabi was also the first MS to be equipped with the revolutionary new psycoframe cockpit. This system increases the sensitivity and responsiveness of a Newtype pilot and thus the suit reacts immediately to mental commands.

A very nice-looking piece, made even better w/ the metallic coating. This saves a lot of time on painting. Unfortunately, not very posable, especially compared to the recent wave of version 2.0 skeletons being released by Bandai. The shield is heavy and will limit posing; if you bend the arms far enough the shock/piston assembly in the upper arm will disconnect. It won't break, but it will look illogical and weird when it happens. The legs do not bend that much; neither will the feet.



If you have to have a Sazabi now, you should buy this, but I suspect it will get a 2.0 upgrade in the future.

Not only is this Extended MSIA version of Sazabi measuring slightly taller than its previous MSIA figure, the detail, articulation, and paint application, particularly on the panel lines, is simply astounding! Sazabi comes packed with its trademark weaponry that includes a beam rifle, beam sabers, beam tomahawk, shield, funnels, and optional hands. Also included is an optional head with the top part of the head opened to reveal the escape pod as seen in the "Char's Counter Attack" anime movie.

The sazabi is one of the best ex msia figures made. It is super posable as it will mimick the exact movement of the one in the movie. This sazabi also towers over other MS showing its dominant features. However, be careful not to twist the horns on the head as it rips easily, and the monoeye is not movable unlike the zaku II. The front feet armor sometimes gets in the way of posing as they are plainly glued on instead of a movable piece it just stays there. Also the shield is a bit too heavy on its arm so be careful to angle it correctly or else it would slide off. Other than that this figure is perfect, as there are two sets of funnels : one for you to store on the back (it opens), the other is during combat mode after they are shot out. The twin-b sabers can be stored in the wrists like the movie which is really tight. The axe can also be stored inside the shield which is another plus.

Overall, besides the MG version you will not find another sazabi better than this one at this size and price.
