Just when I think Bandai has reached a height with their MG kits they turn around and exceed it again. 325 parts! Full skeleton detail under snap off armor. Metal leg and groin joints. The fin funnel system is posable. Weapons include Beam Rifle, Shield, New Hyper Bazooka, Fin Funnel, Custom Beam Saber and Beam Saber (how can this thing move?). Instruction book is 23 pages long with details of prototype (in Japanese) and full painting guide Stickers and dry transfers for markings. This is one big, bad looking Gundam.

I don't care if people called me an "otaku", or a man who doesn't have the understanding of what a girl is, i don't care, this is a must, one of the very best models, and from the best gundam movie ever, this and the sazabi are a must, and this is the one you want, because you have something quite challenging to build, and fun in the process, and not too simple that a retard can do it, and besides why would you want the PG model, it's hugely expensive, too difficult, and it's not meant for human beings, but with this, the HG model who's aimed to a wider and more human audience, you can enjoy having and being part of this Gundam Era.

Here it is! The biggest, baddest Gundam ever flown in the UC. After this, all other mobile suits go for a more compact design. One thing that potentially worried me about this model were the funnel pieces. However, BanDai locked them firmly into place with a series of latches that do not wear out or droop. In addition to the funnels, this model comes with one of the coolest beam rifles ever, a bazooka, the large beam saber, and a superbly engineered shield that even sports the mounted missles. I have yet to see another MG kit that the weapons are this finely engineered, and mounted on the model. This kit simply will not drop the weapons once you have it posed.
The main reason for this kit having the unique distinction of never having dropped a weapon or accessory, is the superb engineering of the mech itself. BanDai went all out, even incorporating metal inner body and foot structures to this model to improve stability and posability. I have never seen engineering like this in any other Gundam MG model. I honestly think this model was used as a testbed for ideas to improve the Perfect Grade Gundam model series. The scale may be smaller, but this model is almost Perfect Grade in quality and details. I keep waiting for BanDai to put as much care and effort into other MG models as they did this one. The Version 2.0 Mk-II and Zeta come close, but do not match the quality of this model.
If you only get one MG Gundam ever, make it this one! You will not be disappointed! Why are there not six star ratings?!
